Sadly, Chrome Web Store restricts both - there is no way around it due to legal concerns.
I'm a solo developer from Russia - it's very complicated to accept international payments. While I have intention to eventually make it paid, it's been completely free with no limits from day 1. Enjoy while it lasts.
I can only accept crypto, and with just 30k users it's not something I want to bother with.

Yes. Non-DRM live content such as Twitch, Twitter, and VK streams can be recorded while playing.
Yes. Processing is fully local, with no analytics or telemetry. Your history and activity stay on your device.
No. MAX works directly in Chrome by default. The desktop app is there for native FFmpeg processing, custom folders, higher same-site concurrency and long downloads.
The desktop app (CoApp) is an open-source project, published on GitHub. It is not restricted by browser permissions and is installed on your device directly, which allows to support 20 simultaneous downloads, ask for downloads folder in "Save as..." flow before the download starts, and it's generally faster and more crash resistant than downloading via browser. It will not work on some machines and it's quite a pain for me to support it, so if you are happy with browser-only experience, don't install it.
Make sure you have downloaded correct installer for your OS from installation page, and followed instruction exactly. If the issue persists, text me your browser version and OS via email or Telegram group.
